Tasting Note: Montes was started by four partners, Aurelio Montes, Douglas Murray, Pedro Grand and Alfredo Vidaurre, who firmly believe that there is a niche for Chilean premium wines. Together they own over 425 acres of mature vines in the Curico Valley. Their aim is to make super premium wines from Chile, using the best grapes, modern equipment, the latest technology and new American and French oak barrels. Outstanding fruit, with a noseful of red berries, black cherry, black pepper, hints of tobacco. These elements come through on the palate, revealing a full-bodied wine. The mid palate is round and velvety with an added touch of vanilla and toast, followed by a long and smooth finish.
