Wine Spectator 96 Wine Advocate 95 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Gorgeous aromas of plums, blackberries and licorice, with hints of mineral. Full-bodied, with full, silky tannins and a long, long finish. Big and solid. Fantastic. If you love Lynch, you won't be disappointed.
Region: Bordeaux
Bordeaux is the largest fine wine-making region in the world ? with 284,320 acres of A.O.C. vines ? as well as the most legendary. Its sterling reputation is built mostly on red wines. But Bordeaux doesn't just mean reds. The region also produces a wide range of other excellent wines, including dry and sweet whites, ros‚ and clairet, and a sparkling wine called Cr‚mant de Bordeaux.
The great diversity of microclimates and soils (clay, gravel, chalk, limestone) are ideally suited to Bordeaux's different grape varieties including the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot.
The richness and elegance of Bordeaux wines is the result of subtle blending of these different grape varieties, combined with centuries of experience, the skills of local winemakers and on-going research by oenologists (wine scientists) and technicians. With 57 appellations, more than 9,000 wine-producing chƒteau, and 13,000 wine growers in the Bordeaux region, you can find sophisticated wines, refreshing wines, aged wines and young wines. Though the top-quality Bordeaux merit the higher prices they command, there is a large choice of wines in every price category.
Thanks to its size and diversity, Bordeaux pr
