The wine field located at Pessac, meadows of Bordeaux, owes its name to its more famous owner: the Pope Clement V. Born in Villandraut, bishop with Saint-Bertrand-of-Commingues, archbishop in Bordeaux, pope in Avignon, Bertrand de Got is, in XIVe century, the first wine grower known of these Sand-gravel mixes which constitute the cradle of the high-class wines of Bordeaux. Domaine of 36 hectares, including 34 planted vines. The Castle Pope-Clement belongs to the controlled label of origin Pessac-L‚ognan, and more generally to the wine surface of the Low registers.
Enc‚pagement of red Pape-Clement is distributed between 60 % of cabernets-sauvignons and 40 % of merlots .
Anticipated maturity 2015-2020.
