Deep ruby with purple edges, this ripe, complex wine shows intense blackberry, blueberry and spicy fruit, layered atop a rich base of smoke, white pepper, game and briar flavors and aromas. The mouth feel is big and powerful, with tremendous extract and substantial tannins. Although this wine can be enjoyed now with flavorful meats or well-ripened cheeses, it will soften and round out with additional bottle age.
